Sammy Virji is the solo project of Samuel Bashir Virji, a producer and DJ working across bass house, bassline and garage. He has been releasing music since 2015, and the run from the Chips N Gravy EP in 2017 to "Spice Up My Life" in 2020 traces the shift from early EP work to tracks built for big rooms. His 2025 release "Same Day Cleaning" arrived with Capitol UK behind him.
The route there was not a straight line. Born in London and raised in Witney, Oxfordshire, he enrolled at Newcastle University and then left before finishing, choosing to build a career as a producer and DJ instead.
That choice has since been backed by his peers: he was named Best Producer at DJ Mag's Best of British Awards in 2025. He performs as a solo artist, and his sets have carried to rooms and outdoor sites of real scale, among them Cardiff Castle, Heaton Park and The Concourse Project. It makes him a strong fit for festival and fair lineups, college events, and private engagements looking for a dance act that can hold a main stage.
