YG Marley is an American singer and songwriter whose reggae runs through pop, R&B and soul. He broke through with "Praise Jah in the Moonlight" in 2023, a song certified platinum in 2024, and he has kept moving since: "Awuke" arrived in 2024, followed by "Treasure & Gold" in 2025. He records for Hitmaker Music Group.
The name is not a coincidence. Born Joshua Omaru Marley on December 5, 2001 in Beverly Hills, California, he is the son of Lauryn Hill and former football player Rohan Marley, and the grandson of reggae pioneer Bob Marley. That inheritance runs in two directions at once, reggae on one side and hip-hop and neo-soul songwriting on the other, and both show up in how he writes.
On stage he has played rooms as different as Newark Symphony Hall and the Milton Keynes National Bowl, a range that speaks to how his catalog travels from a seated theater to an open field. That makes him a strong fit for festival and fair lineups, college programming, corporate events, casinos and private engagements.
