French producer and DJ Boston Bun performs electronic dance music influenced by '90s Chicago house and Detroit techno. Born Thibaud Noyer, he released his hit single "Missing You" in 2017 on Ed Banger Records. As a teenager, Noyer discovered electronic music through the songs of the Chemical Brothers, Detroit Grand Pubahs, and Basement Jaxx, whose bass-heavy, hook-friendly flair would find its way into his own anthems. He dabbled in bedroom production and sought out samples by digging through vinyl, building a sound he debuted on his first EP, Housecall (Ed Banger), which arrived in 2012. Gaining international attention, he played clubs and festivals around the world. His club-focused Flasher EP landed in 2013, while 2014's We Got Soul recruited Chicago house producer Bear Who? and vocalist Piu-Piu for the EP's two tracks. The first installments of his Just for Freaks series were issued in 2015, followed by the release of yearly singles, starting with 2016's "Get into It" with Loreen. His most popular single to date, "Missing You," arrived in 2017, racking up over four million streams and numerous remixes. He followed the success of "Missing You" with 2018's "Spread Love (Paddington)" featuring DVNO and "Better Together." The following year, he scored another club hit with "Don't Wanna Dance."
