Jai'len Josey is an Atlanta R&B and soul singer whose songwriting pulls hip-hop, Detroit house, and musical theater into the same room. She launched her recording career in 2020 with the single "Death of a Black Girl" and the EP Illustrations, then widened the scope on Southern Delicacy in 2023. She records for UMG, with Serial Romantic set for 2026.
She got to the studio by way of the stage. Josey won the Jimmy Awards, the national high school musical theatre prize, in 2014, and made her professional Broadway debut at 18 in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical. The R&B and hip-hop she grew up around in Atlanta stayed in her ear through all of it, which is why the theater training reads as phrasing and control rather than polish.
Josey performs as a solo artist and has worked the rooms of her home city, from Center Stage to the Hell Stage at The Masquerade and Aisle 5. Active on record and on the road since 2020, she is a strong booking for college programming, festival and fair lineups, corporate stages, and private engagements.
