Jake Bugg is a singer-songwriter whose writing sits where folk, blues and indie rock meet. He started early. Bugg was born in Nottingham, England, and picked up a guitar at 12, learning the instrument through Don McLean, Donovan, The Beatles, Johnny Cash and The Everly Brothers. Those are the bones of the songs: plain melody, a voice with a hard edge to it, and no interest in decoration. By 16 he was playing the Glastonbury Festival.
