Lady A is a Nashville country group whose catalog reaches across contemporary country, country pop, and rock for Capitol Records. Their early run set the terms: "I Run to You" won the 2010 Grammy for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and "Need You Now" followed in 2011 with Grammys for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, while the album of the same name took Best Contemporary Country Album. The releases have kept coming since, from Summer State Of Mind in 2022 to On This Winter's Night (Volume 2) in 2025.
They were writers before they were a band. Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott, and Dave Haywood formed Lady A in Nashville in 2006 after collaborating as songwriters in the city's country music scene, and the group has been active ever since.
Scott sings lead and background vocals alongside Kelley and Haywood, with Jason "Slim" Gambill in the lineup. Beyond the Grammys, the group holds the Country Music Association Award for International Achievement and won ACM Vocal Group of the Year in three consecutive years. Their stage history runs from Hersheypark Stadium to the Fantasy Springs Special Events Center and the Wendel Concert Stage, a range that carries across fair and festival lineups, casino showrooms, college events, corporate dates, and private events.
