Quiet Riot is a Los Angeles hard rock band working across heavy metal, glam metal and arena rock. Metal Health, described in one account as a six-times platinum album, remains the record the band is measured against, and the catalog has kept moving since, through Road Rage (2017) and Hollywood Cowboys (2019).
The band has been active since 1973. Quiet Riot first signed a record deal with Pasha Records in the dawn of the 80's, at a time when radio was dominated by the "new wave" sound. That timing matters: a metal band from Los Angeles landing a deal in a market pointed somewhere else entirely.
The lineup history reads like a map of the era, with Randy Rhoads and Rudy Sarzo among the players who passed through, and Jizzy Pearl and Alex Grossi carrying the name in more recent years.
