SHAED is an indie pop trio from Washington, D.C. that has been recording together since 2016. Their 2018 album MELT put them on the map, but it was "Trampoline" that traveled furthest, going 2× Platinum with the RIAA and picking up Platinum certifications in Switzerland and France and Gold in Canada. The group records for BMG Rights Management and released Spinning Out in 2024.
They built that sound at home. In 2017 the members of SHAED moved into a shared rambler ranch house in their hometown of Silver Spring, Maryland, installed a studio inside it, and recorded the Melt project there.
Chelsea Lee sings lead, with Spencer Ernst on keyboards, drums, guitars and vocals alongside Max Ernst. In 2019 the trio played both Lollapalooza and Summer Sonic, and they remain a working live act suited to college programs, corporate events, fairs and festivals, and private engagements.
