Víctor Manuelle emerged as a leading voice among the generation of New York salsa performers who rose to prominence in the mid-'90s, along with Marc Anthony and India. Mentored by Gilberto Santa Rosa, Manuelle regularly topped the tropical charts with albums like Victor Manuelle (1996) and A Pesar de Todo (1997). Beginning with 2006's Decisión Unámine, he added executive production and songwriting credits to his list of achievements. 2009's Muy Personal topped the Latin albums charts; later that year, Me Llamare Tuyo did the same. 2015's Que Suenen los Tambores placed in the Top 200. 2018's 25/7 reached number two, while the following year's Memorias de Navidad went Top Ten. Manuelle returned with 2022's Lado A Lado B; it showcased his love of modern Latin pop music on the first half, with salsa gorda and more traditional sounds on the latter half.
